Come back to Texas...

Mac's calls for keeping in touch hit the spot.  And I know that I am not the greatest about staying touch but we are all moving and I think that we can use this blog to stay relevant each others lives.

So Provo hasn't changed much if any of you all were concerned about that.  BYU is still here with loads of students all around.  And they are driving me nuts.  I really feel ready to leave the school atmosphere for awhile.  And everyday I get more tired of doing schoolwork all the time.  This last week I got a bit of a break though (that's only cause I got super sick).  So last Sunday in sacrament meeting I started feeling bad and getting a headache.  By Sunday School I was fighting to stay coherent, so Jennifer forced me to go home.  At home I had a big fever and little appetite.  I figured I sleep it off and went to bed at 8pm.  That didn't help much the next day, and so I stayed home and slept most the day.  Tuesday I tried to go back to class but that was a really bad idea.  When Jennifer got home she forced me to the doctors.  There we found out that I had pneumonia.  That wasn't the best timing but my teachers were really nice about the whole thing.  So now I am still on antibiotics but I feel infinitely better.

Well there are two big pieces of news from me.  First is that we will be going to Texas for a job interview at the end of this week.  It is with a company called National Instruments, and they make computer hardware for reading instruments into the computer.  My job would be mainly designing the housing for the units, meaning that I would ensure that they are protected and don't overheat.  Right now it probably isn't the most interesting but it is the best offer yet (but there have been no other offers).  So we may find ourselves in the Lone Star State for a few years.  We'd only be about 4 hours from Jed and his family, so we wouldn't be totally without family.  Nothing is for sure yet but we are definitely considering it.

The next big piece of news is that ... it's a boy!!!  We had the ultrasound last Thursday, the baby is on schedule for the 10th of March and is looking very healthy.  We are very excited and now get to duke it out over the name.  She is putting her foot down on Bear, squashing it out of the picture that is.  But there are names that we both do like, but we are not in any big rush to choose a name.

So that is an update on me.  I'll keep you guys informed on Texas, and let you know how my trip out there goes.

Busy, Busy

Its good to hear from you Mac. This friday i will be visiting Mac and Jaime in Alaska. I am stoked. It may be freezing, but we shall no doubt have a wonderful time. So, Chase is pregnet, Mac is trying, Hank is Hank, and i need to get on my theoretical horse :) Life is good for me. I live in good old Lehi. What makes it awesome is that I live next to Cabellas.

Football season just ended. Copper Hills went 3-7. Not too great by my standards but, they went a combined 1-19 the two years prior. Hopefully we can improve to 7-3 or 8-2 next year. I now have 2 weeks to recoup, then its off to Wrestling season. I'll be coaching back at Skyline. We are ranked 5th in the preseason 4A rankings. Not too shabby. Our goal is to take region and improve on that 5th place ranking. So, i have two weeks off, then im pretty much swamped til valentines.

It looks like teaching in China is out as an option. I have too many things here to run away for six months. The state board of education finally is processing my teaching license. I should have it completed by the end of the school year. This means that, come May, ill be a licensed teacher with a masters. Hooray!!! USC is going well. My graduation date is May 20th, 2012. It will be nice to have all that completed, but lets be honest. Ill probably find something else to pursue.

Greetings From the Great White North

Alaska, the final frontier, these are the voyages of the starship USS Little Godzilla (thats my tiny 2wd Toyota!)....Something about boldly going where no man has gone before, star date something, I don't know.

Anyway, as you all know, I would like to be kept up to date with the goings on in your lives, and it's only fair that I share whats up with me.

To begin, Alaska is awesome, albeit the strangest place I've ever been. Tucker can vouch for me on this, Alaskans are strange Jose's. It's hard to explain why it is so weird up here, but it almost feels like it's ten years ago. Red Box came up here just 2 years ago, and Verizon doesn't even exist north of the Lower 48. It's pretty archaic. But like I said, it's amazing. In my private pilot ground school class we are working on maps right now, and every time I open the Alaska one I'm blown away by how immense this place is. The state is 1/3rd the size of the whole contiguous United States, it would take years to even get a grasp of what there is to do here.

I don't know how long we'll be here, but I am trying to convince Jaime to let us stay and work here for awhile. I will be graduating in December 2012 and I found out that at that time, there will be tons of positions opening in Alaska, Hawaii, and Guam. So those might be where I submit my name to work when I get done here. I voted on Guam, but Jaime isn't so hot on that idea, and she wants to live in Hawaii. So let me know what you guys think.

We are not pregnant yet. We just passed the one year mark of trying to have a kid, and it's starting to get to me. I know it can take awhile to conceive, but I didn't know how taxing it could be emotionally. So keep us in your prayers, and we name the kid after one of you...

Anyway, I better sign off. I have a test in my aviation history class in a few hours and I didn't study as much as I wanted to. So adios mi amigos, I shall talk to you laters.

Changes, Changes

Its only four months into 2011 and oh how the times are changing. Mac is headed to Alaska and graduating from the U. Chase is on his way to graduate from the Y. I am a school teacher at Copper Hills and working on my Masters from USC. Hank has a house all to himself. It will be fun having Mac in Alaska. I cant wait to use my flight benefits to visit him. This summer should be filled with good times. Hank's cabin, rock climbing, and warm weather.

I am applying to coach the Mater Dei High School Wrestling team. If i get the job i'll be moving to Southern California for the foreseeable future. It is located in Orange County California. I'll be 15 min from the beach, 15 from disneyland and 45 from USC. Warm weather, long boarding, coaching, and all my hobbies. I cant think of a better place. I hope I get it. I'll keep you all informed.

We need to plan a vacation to Hawaii. It has been too long since we have gone. For Chase it has been a lifetime. We will need Jen there to make sure Chase does ok if he has to go to Los Angeles alone again. Plus it is time we take our special ladies to those great islands.

Life is good. . We may not see each other every day but the brotherhood is still thriving.

New Year, New Life

I am now an official teacher. I teach history full time at Copper Hills High School. I most likely will be the head coach of the wrestling team next season. I will also help out with the Football team. It's crazy where life takes everyone. I am really excited. It takes up most of my time but i am as happy as can be. USC is rigorous but going well. I finish my 1st semester in Feb. Only 3 more to go... go trojans!!! Game night has been awesome when we all do it: Mac, Chase, Hank and myself. i love getting all the couples together, hopefully Ill add one more to the group somtime in the next few years :) Anyway. Love you all...

Goodbye 10... Welcome 2011....

I believe that Mac's rundown of the past few seasons has been an accurate account of those months. It has been some time since we have written on this post, especially yours truly.

Life has had its ups and downs in 2011 but all together it was a productive and worthwhile time in my life and I assume everyones as well. Don't worry Mac, I do think you live a great life... I am excited for that time to come when ever it does, but until that day comes bring on the experiences!!!

As Mac said, I have been coaching wrestling at Skyline. Those little rascals took 2nd place at the Titan Duels at Olympus. I was extremely proud of them. We had some JV step up and prove themselves. It really has been the highlight of the past few months. I love working with the kids. With that being said, I may not be at Skyline next year. I may have the opportunity to be a coach and teacher at Copper Hills High School. I should be a frontrunner for the position as long as my background check goes through. Ironically enough, my background check shows the trespassing citation that i received that good ole summer of 04'. They have to clear that to approve me to work at the school. I would teach Social studies (American History and World History), Wrestling, Weight Lifting, and Social Dance. Lets hope and pray that everything comes back cleared because the Principle really likes me.

Just incase you don't know, I was accepted to USC! Im officially a Trojan! Fight on! I am perusing a Masters in Teaching. I did a 180 and decided that working in the marketing and advertising field isn't what i wanted. Crazy to think that i am trying to get a masters degree.

As for the women, they come and go. Haven't found one that i want to spend eternity with yet. Maybe that will change in 11'. 2011 could be a great year. Hopefully I'll have a career teaching at Copper Hills and maybe find a great gal.

I agree with Mac, Chase needs to be more social. We still love you buddy and we are here for you when you want to come home :) As for Mac, congrats on air traffic control school. I'll be visiting you in Alaska, hopefully a few times.

Hank's great year has been 2010 and hopefully 2011 gets even better, Kids :) You have to do it Hank, the rest of us want to be uncles for you and your the one in the best position to do it. So keep practicing and pop one in in 2011

The Dawn of a New Year, It's On the Horizon Yo

Well, here we are: Rattlesnake Rapids...That pretty much sums up the Great Summer of Ought 10.

Jaime and I purchased Lagoon season passes along with Hank and Kellee and we all rocked that place.

I was reading over some of our old posts, we've had some good times. But for some reason we stopped writing on this blog of blogs. So I will give a quick re-cap of the last six months that we've missed.

Chase: Still married (a modern day miracle, what with all the hair he has on his feet), still at BYU, and still not ever calling me on the phone just to chat. He did, however, achieve one of our society's markers of becoming a man: he shot his first deer! Booya. I shall be joining him, one day......
Lets see, what else....he took the shell off his truck for a brief while and I thought it looked great. More rugged, more truck-ish. But all that manliness was trumped by the fact that he still has butterfly and dragonfly seat covers from when aunt Jill used to drive that little guy. Haha, that still cracks me up just thinking about that.
There are probably loads of other things I should have mentioned, but those were the highlights.

Hank: That little cuss got married (it must be the Half Year of miracle for us). His lovely wife Kellee is a fireball from the Dirty South, and she is as sweet as sweet tea. I already mentioned the Lagoon passes so we'll move on from that. I don't think Hank got into any fender benders in his car yet, so that's a great step in the right direction.

Jeff: I feel like I'm watching TMZ every time I look at Jeff's Facebook page. Man that guy lives a rock and roll lifestyle. I'm not jealous, I love going to bed at 9 and watching tv on the weekends with Jaime playing Uno. Anyway, back to Jefe. I almost don't want to write anything about this guy cause he's done so much in the last six months that it wouldn't do his life justice, but I'll mention a few things. He is a wrestling coach at Skyline High School (traitor) and I hear his little fighters are kicking butt. He's working on a Masters in Education from USC, and for some reason, he still lives in some lame part of the Salt Lake Valley that I can't remember. He isn't dating anyone as of this publication, but who knows, the day isn't over yet (cross your fingers). Oh yeah, I almost forgot the most important thing, like Chase, Jeff has accomplished something that all American young adult men dream of, buying a motorcycle. Yes, it's a beauty. Ok, that does it for ole' Jefe.

Me: Well, to be honest, after writing about the highlights of my boys, I realized that I haven't done very much. But there are a few things worth mentioning. I'm still at the U, I'll graduate in about 6 months, and I can't wait. Air Traffic Control is waiting for me at the end of August in Anchorage and Jaime and I will be moving up there to take one more step to a career. It'll be wicked scary, but awesome at the same time. I think every married couple should move out of Utah for a little while, to get a taste of life outside the bubble, then come back and raise their kids. That's our plan at least. I finally convinced Jaime to let me buy a truck and I bought a real nice Chevy Avalanche that I named Night Fury, because of his devastating awesome-ness. Thats pretty much it.
